On Wednesday, September 5, 2018, the Mahoney Institute for Neuroscience (MINS) at the University of Pennsylvania hosted its Student Kick-Off for their “Year of Neurodegenerative Research.” The event served as an opportunity for students and trainees interested in neurodegeneration to network and meet others starting in the field. Several graduate students and post-docs, including the Center for Neurodegenerative Disease Research (CNDR)’s Sneha Narasimhan, presented lectures and displayed posters highlighting their research and projects related to neurodegeneration.
In addition to several other upcoming events, on Wednesday, October 24th, MINS will host CNDR Director, Virginia M.-Y. Lee, PhD, as the keynote speaker at their 46thAnnual Flexner Lecture. Dr. Lee will present on “Transmission of misfolded proteins in neurodegenerative disorders: A common mechanism of disease progression.”
