On Tuesday, December 8, 2020, the Institute on Aging hosted its first virtual Visiting Scholar Series lecture featuring the University of Virginia School of Medicine’s Zhen Yan, PhD, Professor, Cardiovascular Medicine; Director, Center for Skeletal Muscle Research, Robert M. Berne Cardiovascular Research Center.

Dr. Yan’s research focuses on using “state-of-the-art molecular genetics and imaging technologies in a variety of animal models to elucidate the underlying molecular and signaling mechanisms of exercise training-induced adaptations and the impacts on health and disease.”
